SUMMARY:5th NTN Workshop – Towards a unified TN-NTN system – Current topics and latest advancements
DESCRIPTION:Building on the progress from interoperability toward full unification of terrestrial and satellite communication ecosystems\, the 5th NTN Workshop brings together mobile and satellite network operators\, integrators\, technology providers\, and academia in a collaborative setting to present and openly discuss the evolution of the Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) domain. With 3GPP 6G standardisation now underway\, this moment marks a decisive turning point\, as\, for the first time\, NTN communication is fully embedded in the standardisation process from the get-go. The workshop is structured around key presentations\, expert panels\, and live demonstrations\, highlighting the roles of newly available laboratory infrastructure\, space assets\, and cost-effective testbeds as foundations for experimentation and validation. SUMMARY:Fifth Visions for Future Communications Summit
DESCRIPTION:Vision of Future Communications Summit is a top-quality research workshop\, with the support of IEEE\, oriented to identify key research areas in information and communication technologies in the mid-future of 7 to 10 years. The VFCS is an exercise we perform as the launching effort for updating the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for the EU\, an effort we have continuously made in the last years. This upcoming SRIA will have a peculiar significance. It will be the SRIA associated with the launching of FP10\, the new framework program. As such\, this will have a particularly large long-term impact\, in helping to define Europe long term priorities for the whole framework program. \nOur partner Alessandro Guidotti of CNIT will be attending and presenting at the event\, on the subject of the vision beyond 6G for NTN.

DESCRIPTION:The 2026 ETSI AI and Data Conference is the 3rd edition of the event. Focusing exclusively on AI in the past\, the scope is now extended to intertwine AI and Data management technologies. Standardisation Requests in support of the EU AI Act and the EU Data Act\, means that European Standardisation Organisations are actively contributing to EU policy.\n\nThe event will provide an overview of current priorities in the AI and Data ecosystems\, with a detailed discussion on how ETSI is addressing those. Agentic AI will also be in the spotlight in a dedicated session\, and will be addressed from political\, industrial\, and wider perspectives.\n\nAttendees will learn about standardisation around AI and have the opportunity to contribute actively\, and highlight potential gaps\, share ideas for new projects. The event will also feature demonstrations and posters on the latest advances in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data being applied to networks\, digital systems and vertical sector applications.\n\nThis exclusive face-to-face event is a unique opportunity for ETSI members and non-members to gather\, exchange with experts and peers\, and obtain first-hand information on how to shape the future of AI and Data.\n\nThe detailed event programme\, including conference agenda and selected demos and posters\, is expected to be available in early December 2025. Participants will explore advances\, including improved X-band radio access\, seamless TN–NTN handover\, and platforms that enable mission-critical services. DESCRIPTION:The 2026 EuCNC & 6G Summit builds on putting together two successful conferences in the area of telecommunications: EuCNC (European Conference on Networks and Communications)\, supported by the European Commission\, and the 6G Summit\, originated from the 6G Flagship programme in Finland\, one of the very first in its area. The conference is sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc)\, the European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP) and the European Association on Antennas and Propagation (EurAAP)\, and focuses on all aspects of telecommunications ranging from 5G deployment and mobile IoT to 6G exploration and future communications systems and networks\, including experimentation and testbeds\, and applications and services. It brings together cutting-edge research and world-renown industries and businesses\, globally attracting in the last years more than 1000 delegates from more than 40 countries all over the world\, to present and discuss the latest results\, and an exhibition with more than 50 exhibitors\, for demonstrating the technology developed in the area\, namely within research projects from EU R&I programmes. \nThe conference has a not-for-profit organisation\, hence\, registration fees are as low as possible and all surplus will be made available in grants. Best Papers and Booth Awards will be granted. Accepted and presented papers for regular sessions will be published in the Conference Proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore and other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases. \nAlthough the event will take place after the end of the project\, the 5G-STARDUST partners are planning to be present in some capacity – Stay tuned for more details!
