SUMMARY:FOKUS FUSECO Forum “Forward to 6G”
DESCRIPTION:In its role as an internationally recognised industry-oriented event\, the Forum mirrors the lessons learned from global public and private 5G network deployments\, and 5G evolution research and standardisation\, in a landscape where increasing interest in private industrial campus network deployments\, and industries preparing to become ready for the 6G age can be witnessed. \nThe focus of the discussion will be the new momentum in international standardisation and building up new ecosystems sparked by the latest innovations in the fields of Open RAN\, sub THz Radio Systems\, Non-Terrestrial Networks\, Network Automation\, AI/ML\, Open Source Toolkits\, as well as new envisaged 6G use cases demanding a critical assessment of emerging 6G technologies and architectures. \n5G-STARDUST project partner Fraunhofer is organising this event\, and we’ll be having a multifaceted participation there: \n\nRepresentatives from Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni (CNIT) will be holding a presentation focused on “NTN evolution: stepping into 6G” during track 3\, session 3\, workshop part 2 “3rd Euro NTN Workshop: TN NTN Unification\, Non-Terrestrial Networks in the 6G Era – Current Topics and Latest Advancements”\, taking place from 2pm on November 7.\n\n\n5G-STARDUST’s Project Coordinator\, Tomaso de Cola (DLR) will deliver a keynote entitled “From 5G Advanced to 6G: The 5G-STARDUST Vision” on the same day and track\, during session 4 (Workshop part 3 “3rd Euro NTN Workshop: TN NTN Unification\, Non-Terrestrial Networks in the 6G Era – Current Topics and Latest Advancements”)\, taking place from 4pm.\n\nThe project will have a booth within the event’s showcase area\, also featuring promotional material for fellow SNS JU projects 6G-NTN and ETHER\, which share with us the quest for the integration of TN and NTN\, and NTN into 6G\n\nMore information and agenda on https://www.fokus.fraunhofer.de/ngni/events/fuseco-forum_2024

SUMMARY:Satellite Network Of Experts School | SatNEx V
DESCRIPTION:5G-STARDUST’s partner CTTC is organising the flagship Satellite Network of Experts School\, supported by the European Space Agency and co-organized by Teleco Renta\, the Spanish plan for the promotion of telecommunications studies in Spain (PPET)\, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation through PRTR and the European Union – NextGenerationEU. \nThe school is designed for early-stage researchers and industry professionals\, including PhD students and postdoctoral researchers\, who are interested in exploring the latest advancements in satellite communications and their applications. The Satellite Network of Experts School will combine lectures from leading academics and industry experts around different topics like deep space\, aeronautical\, 6G NTN or AI activities among others. \nThe CTTC partners will hold a talk at the event – entitled\, “Performance Evaluation of 3GPP Release 17 Non-Terrestrial Networks: A debrief” – a joint presentation for 5G-STARDUST and fellow EU-funded research project TRANTOR. \nFor more information on the programme: https://satnexvschool.cttc.es/index.php/program

SUMMARY:ETSI's Software and Standards for Smart Networks and Services Conference & Hackfests
DESCRIPTION:In the dynamic landscape of communication technology\, the convergence of open source software\, standardisation\, and cutting-edge research stands as a cornerstone for building resilient and sustainable networks. ETSI has pioneered an approach in establishing Software Development Groups\, alongside research-driven early-stage standardisation in Industry Specification Groups\, all in close proximity to 3GPP. This event\, spanning a 1.5-day conference supplemented by 3 half-day Hackfests\, will explore the synergies between these complementary tracks\, shaping the future of communication infrastructure and services. \nWith a multidisciplinary approach\, this gathering will highlight the relationships between open source initiatives\, industry standards\, and academic research in driving innovation\, fostering interoperability\, and ensuring the long-term viability of communication networks. Through a series of engaging talks\, panel discussions\, and interactive workshops\, participants will delve into the collaborative frameworks essential for harnessing the collective strengths of these pillars. \nFor more information and agenda: https://www.etsi.org/events/2407-etsi-sns4sns-event
